Gridlock by Wizard Trees: True OG Meets Zangria
Gridlock Wizard Trees genetics bring together two distinctive varieties: True OG x Zangria. This modern American hybrid combines the unmistakable character of classic OG genetics with the sweeter, candy-inspired qualities associated with Zangria.
Wizard Trees has created Gridlock for those who appreciate traditional OG characteristics but want something a little different. True OG provides the strong, fuel-like aromatic profile, while Zangria adds a subtle sweetness without taking away from the original character.
The result is a hybrid that stays true to its OG roots while introducing a modern twist.
For collectors interested in American cannabis genetics, Gridlock offers an interesting combination of established heritage and contemporary breeding.
Flavour and Aroma: Pungent Gas and Subtle Candy
One of the standout features of Gridlock is its particularly strong aromatic profile.
Wizard Trees describes intense gas, pungent fuel notes and a subtle candy sweetness. Unlike many modern hybrids where sugary aromas take centre stage, she puts her heavier OG character first.
The True OG parent provides the dominant fuel-like aroma, with earthy, musky undertones adding depth.
Zangria introduces a lighter candy-inspired character that helps balance the stronger notes without overpowering them.
This contrast gives this strain a distinctive personality. It’s not designed to be overwhelmingly sweet or fruity. Instead, it maintains the bold, traditional character associated with OG genetics.
What Makes Gridlock Genetics Special?
Gridlock stands out because of its close connection to classic OG genetics.
True OG is a well-known member of the OG family, recognised for its distinctive aromatic character. By pairing it with Zangria, Wizard Trees has introduced a sweeter influence while retaining the qualities that make OG varieties so recognisable.
The breeder also describes Gridlock as having a traditional OG-style appearance, with elongated structure, dense formations and a thick, frosted finish.
Another interesting connection is its role in the wider Wizard Trees collection. This is also one of the parent varieties used to create Boiler Room, where it was crossed with Tea Time.
This makes it particularly interesting for collectors who enjoy exploring the relationships between different releases from the same breeder.
Gridlock is available as feminised photoperiod cannabis seeds and is classified as an Indica/Sativa hybrid.
