Who Are Barneys Farm?
The story starts in the late 1980s – not in Amsterdam, but in the foothills of the Himalayas.
Founder Derry Brett spent years travelling through Afghanistan, Pakistan, India, Nepal, Thailand, Vietnam, and China. He wasn’t sightseeing. He was tracking down rare landrace cannabis strains, collecting seeds directly from local farmers, and learning everything he could about what made each one special.
He spent three years in the mountains breeding and stabilising those genetics before heading to Amsterdam. In 1992, he took over Barney’s Coffeeshop in the city centre. Word got out fast. The strains were unlike anything most people had grown before.
That reputation has only grown since. Today, Barneys Farm seeds have won over 40 Cannabis Cups. Strains like G13 Haze, Liberty Haze, Critical Kush, Tangerine Dream, and Pineapple Chunk are genuine classics – grown and loved by hundreds of thousands of people around the world.
