Franco’s Lemon Cheese by Green House Seeds: Genetics and Background
Franco’s Lemon Cheese by Green House Seeds is a feminized hybrid created from Super Lemon Haze x Exodus Cheese. For collectors searching specifically for Franco’s Lemon Cheese Green House Seeds, this strain carries more history than most releases in the breeder’s catalogue.
The cross was the final creation of the late Franco Loja, bringing together two of his favourite plants: the multiple award-winning Super Lemon Haze and the famous Exodus Cheese.
Green House Seeds later released the strain in Franco’s memory, making it both an interesting genetic combination and an important part of the breeder’s history. The strain also achieved third place at the 2016 Spannabis Champions’ Cup in the Outdoor category under its earlier name, SLEX.
Franco’s Lemon Cheese Flavour, Aroma and Character
As you might expect from the parents, there is a strong contrast between fresh lemon citrus and classic Cheese.
Green House Seeds describes the aroma as very lemon-heavy at first, with the Cheese character sitting underneath. The flavour becomes more noticeably cheesy, while a skunky quality adds extra depth.
That combination is what makes the strain particularly interesting to us.
Super Lemon Haze brings the sharp, fresh citrus character, while Exodus Cheese adds something much deeper, earthier and more pungent. Neither side completely takes over, giving the strain an identity that is easy to recognise.
What Makes the Green House Seeds Version Different?
This is very much a Green House Seeds strain rather than another modern Lemon Cheese hybrid.
The combination of Super Lemon Haze and Exodus Cheese brings together two strains with a strong connection to the breeder and European cannabis history.
Green House Seeds also identifies myrcene, linalool and D-limonene among the most prominent terpenes in the strain, which fits well with its mix of citrus, floral and deeper earthy aromas.
Its connection to Franco Loja also gives this release a significance beyond the genetics alone.
Our Take on Franco’s Lemon Cheese by Green House Seeds
At SeedMasters.com, we think Franco’s Lemon Cheese is one of the more meaningful strains in the Green House Seeds collection.
The Super Lemon Haze x Exodus Cheese pairing is already enough to make it interesting, combining sharp lemon and Haze character with one of the most famous Cheese lines around.
But the history behind the strain makes it stand apart even further. As Franco Loja’s final cross, it represents an important part of Green House Seeds’ story as well as an unusual meeting point between Lemon Haze and old-school Cheese genetics.
For collectors interested in historic breeder releases, classic European genetics and distinctive citrus-and-Cheese profiles, Franco’s Lemon Cheese is certainly one worth considering.
