Gorilla Melon by Fast Buds: Genetics and Background
Gorilla Melon by Fast Buds is a feminized photoperiod hybrid created by crossing GG#4 from Murdock GG Strains with Fast Buds’ own keeper selection of Melon. For collectors searching specifically for Gorilla Melon Fast Buds, this is a modern release that combines one of the best-known Gorilla genetic families with a much sweeter fruit influence.
Fast Buds lists THC at around 25–30%, placing it among the stronger varieties in the breeder’s feminized collection.
The parentage is fairly easy to understand. GG#4 contributes the heavier, earthier and more pungent side, while the Melon keeper brings the sweeter fruit character that gives the strain its name.
Gorilla Melon Flavour, Aroma and Character
The flavour profile is built around sweet melon, earth and deeper GG#4 notes.
Fast Buds describes the overall character as sweet and sour, with the Melon parent bringing a ripe fruit quality while GG#4 adds a more familiar earthy and pungent background.
That contrast is probably what makes Gorilla Melon most interesting to us.
There is plenty of sweetness, but it isn’t simply another candy-style hybrid. The Gorilla influence gives the profile more weight, creating a mixture of juicy melon and darker, earthier notes.
It’s a relatively simple flavour combination, but that’s not a bad thing. You know exactly what the strain is aiming for.
What Makes the Fast Buds Version Different?
The use of Fast Buds’ own Melon keeper gives this release a clear breeder identity.
Rather than simply putting two fashionable strain names together, Fast Buds has paired a selected Melon plant with established GG#4 genetics sourced from Murdock GG Strains.
That makes the breeding background more specific and gives collectors a better idea of where the key characteristics come from.
It is also a full-term feminized photoperiod strain, rather than one of the autoflowering varieties Fast Buds is perhaps best known for.
Our Take on Gorilla Melon by Fast Buds
At SeedMasters.com, we think Gorilla Melon is one of the more straightforward but appealing hybrids in the newer Fast Buds feminized range.
The GG#4 x Melon combination works well on paper, bringing together two very different flavour directions without becoming overly complicated.
We particularly like the contrast between sweet melon and the deeper earthy character inherited from the Gorilla side. It gives the strain more personality than a straightforward fruit hybrid.
For collectors interested in Fast Buds genetics, GG#4 crosses or modern melon-led varieties, Gorilla Melon is certainly one worth considering.
