The Curse by Wizard Trees: RS11 Meets Black Magic
The Curse Wizard Trees genetics bring together two of the Californian breeder’s most distinctive varieties: RS11 x Black Magic. This modern American hybrid combines the familiar candy-inspired character of RS11 with the darker, gassier qualities associated with Wizard Trees’ Black Magic collection.
RS11, also known as Rainbow Sherbert #11, has become one of the most recognisable names in modern Californian cannabis genetics. Its distinctive aromatic profile and colourful appearance have made it an important part of the Wizard Trees story.
By pairing RS11 with Black Magic, the breeder has created a variety that retains the original’s identity while introducing additional depth and darker visual characteristics.
Flavour and Aroma: Sweet Candy and Heavy Gas
One of the standout features of The Curse is its rich, candy-inspired aromatic profile.
Wizard Trees describes sweet candy notes, classic RS11 gas and deeper fuel-like undertones. These characteristics create an interesting balance between the two parent varieties.
RS11 provides the familiar sweetness, with its distinctive confectionery-inspired character remaining particularly noticeable.
Black Magic introduces a stronger gas influence, adding depth and complexity without completely changing the original RS11 profile.
Rather than being dominated by one characteristic, The Curse combines sweet candy aromas with a heavier, more pungent background.
This makes it particularly interesting for collectors who appreciate the different aromatic profiles found in contemporary American genetics.
What Makes The Curse Genetics Special?
The Curse stands out because of its particularly strong connection to the original RS11.
Wizard Trees describes distinctive rounded formations resembling golf balls, a characteristic closely associated with RS11 genetics.
The breeder also highlights deep purple colouring, darker undertones and a thick, frosted appearance. Some examples display more pronounced calyx formations associated with Black Magic, while others retain the classic RS11 look.
These contrasting characteristics give The Curse a recognisable visual identity within the breeder’s collection.
Another interesting feature is its relationship with other Black Magic releases, including Shazam, Obsidian and Tea Tree.
While these varieties share the same Black Magic parent, The Curse places particular emphasis on preserving the recognisable qualities of RS11.
The Curse is available as feminised photoperiod cannabis seeds, making it another interesting addition to the Wizard Trees collection.
