Cosmos F1 CBD Auto by Royal Queen Seeds
Cosmos F1 CBD by Royal Queen Seeds is quite different from the other varieties in the breeder’s original F1 collection.
There’s no ultra-high THC here.
Instead, Cosmos was developed around CBD, with Royal Queen Seeds listing a THC content of just 0.5% alongside a very high CBD classification.
Its genetic background is equally straightforward:
CBD Oregon
Royal Queen Seeds developed Cosmos from carefully inbred CBD-rich genetics originating in Oregon, eventually producing a true F1 Hybrid CBD Auto.
The result holds an important place in the RQS catalogue. Royal Queen Seeds describes Cosmos F1 as the world’s first F1 CBD cannabis variety and the largest autoflowering cultivar in its F1 collection.
For us at SeedMasters.com, that makes Cosmos one of the most interesting strains in the whole RQS F1 project.
CBD Oregon Genetics
Where several Royal Queen Seeds F1 varieties have complicated family trees involving multiple famous strains, Cosmos takes a different route.
Its genetic background is listed simply as:
CBD Oregon
Royal Queen Seeds traces Cosmos back to CBD-rich genetics originating in Oregon.
The breeder then used extensive inbreeding and selection to develop the uniform parent lines required for its true F1 breeding programme.
That’s an important distinction.
Cosmos isn’t simply an existing CBD autoflower with “F1” added to the name. It was developed using the same underlying breeding philosophy as RQS varieties such as Orion F1, Titan F1, Medusa F1 and Epsilon F1, but with the emphasis switched from THC to CBD.
And it certainly worked in that respect.
Royal Queen Seeds describes Cosmos as having the highest CBD concentration in its entire F1 seed collection.
Just 0.5% THC
Here’s the number that really defines Cosmos F1:
0.5% THC
That’s the current figure supplied by Royal Queen Seeds.
CBD, meanwhile, is officially classified as:
Very High
RQS doesn’t currently give Cosmos a precise CBD percentage, so we wouldn’t invent one for the SeedMasters.com listing.
That cannabinoid profile makes Cosmos completely different from something like Titan F1, which sits at the opposite end of the RQS F1 catalogue with its ultra-high THC classification.
The breeder describes the character of Cosmos as clear, focused and meditative.
That’s useful breeder-supplied information for collectors comparing cannabinoid profiles, although individual characteristics should never be treated as guaranteed.
Most importantly, we wouldn’t turn the CBD content into medical claims.
Cosmos is interesting enough purely from a genetics and breeding perspective.
Cookie, Pepper and Pine
CBD might be the headline, but Cosmos has a surprisingly interesting terpene profile too.
Royal Queen Seeds lists:
Cookie · Pepper · Pine
It’s not the sweet Cookies profile you might initially expect.
RQS describes a fresh pine character alongside a fuller, almost creamy Cookies aroma, finished with a noticeable peppery bite.
The breeder identifies farnesene, limonene, myrcene and pinene among the major terpenes in its current data sheet, while its fuller description also references caryophyllene.
That mixture makes sense when you look at the flavour.
Pine brings freshness.
Pepper adds spice.
The creamy Cookie note rounds everything out.
At SeedMasters.com, we think that’s a much more interesting combination than simply describing Cosmos as “earthy” because it’s a CBD-rich variety.
The Biggest RQS F1 Auto
Another thing that separates Cosmos from the rest of the original F1 collection is its size.
Royal Queen Seeds calls Cosmos F1 the largest autoflowering cultivar in its F1 catalogue.
The official height range is approximately:
70–100cm
That’s accompanied by a taller, more elongated Sativa-style appearance than you’ll find in some of the compact F1s we’ve already covered.
RQS describes bright-green foliage and a classic Christmas-tree silhouette, followed by long, somewhat wispy flowers characteristic of its Sativa heritage.
The breeder also gives Cosmos an:
XXL production classification
Flowering itself is listed at approximately 45–55 days, while the complete cycle is around 75–85 days.
Those figures are included here as breeder-supplied reference information for identifying and comparing collectible cannabis genetics.
An Important Part of the RQS F1 Story
We think Cosmos deserves a little more attention than simply being labelled “the CBD one”.
Royal Queen Seeds’ F1 project was built around developing highly inbred parent lines before making the final first-generation crosses.
That approach is designed to produce the hybrid vigour and increased uniformity associated with true F1 hybrids.
Cosmos applies the same idea to CBD-rich cannabis genetics.
That’s what makes it significant.
Rather than competing with Titan, Orion or Hyperion on THC, Cosmos demonstrates that the RQS F1 breeding programme can be used to target a completely different cannabinoid profile.
It’s still an automatic F1.
It’s still designed around vigour and uniformity.
But the cannabinoid balance is almost completely reversed.

Our Take on Cosmos F1 CBD
After working through the Royal Queen Seeds F1 collection at SeedMasters.com, Cosmos might actually be one of the most important varieties of the lot.
Not because it’s the strongest.
Quite the opposite.
Cosmos F1 contains just 0.5% THC and very high CBD.
That makes it the outlier.
Epsilon demonstrates speed. Medusa carries an XXXL production classification. Titan represents the ultra-high-THC end of the range.
Cosmos shows what the same F1 breeding concept can do with CBD-rich genetics.
That’s what interests us.
We also like that Royal Queen Seeds hasn’t tried to make the strain sound more complicated than it needs to be. The genetic background is simply listed as CBD Oregon, reflecting the CBD-rich Oregon genetics from which its inbred lines descend.
Then you’ve got the flavour.
Creamy Cookie, fresh pine and pepper.
It’s an unusual combination and gives Cosmos some personality beyond its cannabinoid numbers.
We’d also keep the CBD claims sensible on the SeedMasters.com page. Royal Queen Seeds says “very high CBD”, but doesn’t currently provide a numerical percentage. There’s no reason for us to guess.
What we do know is considerably more useful: 0.5% THC, very high CBD, true F1 breeding, Oregon-derived genetics and a place in the RQS catalogue as its first F1 CBD variety.
That makes Cosmos F1 much more than simply another low-THC strain.
It’s the CBD branch of the Royal Queen Seeds F1 story.
